The 2013 Lowcountry Redfish Cup will go down as the first time having a female winner. Specifically, it was a team win by Shannon Clark and her husband Captain Rennie Clark of North Carolina, but it was the lady angler bringing the largest redfish to the scales. This husband and wife team claim bragging rights and the grand prize, a new fishing boat by Shallow Sport Boats.

Even though Lake St. Clair was named the top bass fishing lake in the USA by Bassmaster Magazine, the leaders heading into the final day of the Plano Championship Chase are not fishing there. Skeeter/Yamaha pro Mark Davis from Mount Ida, Arkansas the leader heading into the final day - and Mercury pro Chris Lane out of Guntersville, Alabama are hunting their fish on two different Great Lakes. Davis is fishing Lake Erie and Lane is fishing the mouth of Lake Huron.

Skeeter/Yamaha pro Mark Davis of Mount Ida, Arkansas is still on top of the Plano Championship Chase Bassmaster Elite Series event taking place on Lake St. Clair near Detroit, Michigan. It's been roughly 10 years since Davis' last B.A.S.S. Elite-level win, but he's in position heading into Championship Sunday.
