Step 1. Tie on a fishing hook
Step 1. Tie on a #1 - #4 wide-gap, short-shank fishing hook with a palomar knot with the hook’s point facing up. Your tag end should be between 10"-18" depending on water depth and clarity.
Step 2. Tie on a drop-shot weight
Tie on a drop-shot weight using a fisherman's knot. The weight should be just enough to get your bait on bottom, and feel it while shaking your wacky rig. The weight to use is usually between 1⁄4 – 3⁄8 oz.
Step 3. Thread the hook
Insert fishing hook through the worm's center. Make sure the barb comes completely through with the bait still sitting inside the hook’s bend.
