Ingredients:

  • 1/2 head of green cabbage
  • 1/3 head of purple cabbage
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 2.5oz cilantro (1 bunch)
  • Olive Oil
  • Cabela’s Blackened Seasoning
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1lb Crappie Fillets

Cabela's Open Season Spice Blends Blackened Seasoning

Here at Cabela's®, we hunt and fish to help put mean the table. And when it's time to cook it up, we turn to our Cabela's Open Season Spice Blends Blackened Seasoning. This bold, flavorful Cabela's spice blend brings the perfect blackened seasoning finish to your chicken, fish, pork, beef, even vegetables.

Directions:

  1. Thinly slice green cabbage
  2. Thinly slice purple cabbage
  3. Thinly slice onion
  4. Remove seeds from jalapeno and finely dice
  5. Chop cilantro
  6. Combine these ingredients in a mixing bowl
  7. In a measuring cup, combine ¼ Cup olive oil, 1tsp Cabela’s seasoning, and lime juice.
  8. Pour over slaw mix and stir well
  9. Add crappie filets to a bowl
  10. Add 3Tbsp of olive oil
  11. Add 3Tbsp Cabela’s Blackened Seasoning and coat evenly
  12. Heat a pan coated in olive oil on medium-high heat
  13. Cook filets for 2 minutes on each side
  14. On your taco shells of choice (we used small tortillas), make a bed of slaw
  15. Add crappie and toppings of choice
  16. Enjoy!
