More than 50 million people in the United States face hunger, according to data from FeedingAmerica.org.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has a story for you to tell friends and family this holiday season. This infographic titled 'Hunters Feed Those In Need' breaks down how venison donations provide meals to the less fortunate. Thanks to the generosity of hunters and programs like the Missouri's Share the Harvest, nearly 2.8 million pounds of game meat is donated to shelters, food banks and churches in the United States.
If you can, share the harvest and donate your surplus venison to help provide meals for those in need this holiday season. Check with your states Department of Natural Resources or Department Conservation for information on how to donate.
