I am a band director and I fish about 70-80 times a year and most outings are in the evening for about the last 2-3 hrs of daylight.

Gear List

I usually use 3 rods all with bait cast reels.  I use Berkeley vanish 15-17lb test fluorocarbon line only. My rods are from 6ft6-7ft and they are medium heavy to heavy rods made by Extreme. My favorite baits are weightless zoom flukes, megabite sticko worms, punch hogs, big daddy 16"worm and spro jr frogs(almost cut the threads half in length for better action.  On all my soft plastics except the megabite worms I apply smelly jelly garlic or feast flavor using a ziplock bag to help soak the scent.  I also like to use band 200 series crank bait in wood. Tip 16" worm needs owner 7/0 straight worm hook.  Apply smelly jelly and fish slow usually weightless if u r in10 ft of water or shallower.  Other wise peg a bullet weight a couple feet above similar to carolina rig. Once you get bit on the big daddy give fish 8-10 seconds most of the time before setting the hook.  I only use watermelon junebug color on the Big Daddy worm.
