Jump to Turkey Frying Oil

Ingredients:

  • 15 lb. turkey
  • Turkey fryer oil or 3 gallons of Baconup Grease
  • Cabela's open season spice blends (creole seasoning)

Perfect Fried Turkey with Bacon Grease

Process:

  1. Remove neck and giblets
  2. Place the turkey on the lifter
  3. Use syringe to begin injecting marinade into turkey. Inject full bottle into the thicker areas of breast and thighs
  4. Gently season and rub the seasoning into turkey skin
  5. Fill vessel with full 3-gallon tub of Bacon Up grease
  6. Carefully transfer vessel onto burner
  7. Open the propane valves, set time control to max, and start your burner
  8. Place thermometer into vessel and raise temperature to 325°F
  9. Wearing flame-retardant gloves, use lift handle to slowly lower the turkey into the oil
  10. Monitor the temperature to maintain 325°F temperature cook until golden brown, typical cooking time is 3-1/2 minutes per pound
  11. Carefully remove turkey from fryer using lift handle
  12. Serve and enjoy!

Perfect Fried Turkey with Turkey Oil

Process:

  1. Remove neck and giblets
  2. Place the turkey and lifter into empty vessel
  3. Fill vessel with water until turkey is completely submerged
  4. Remove turkey and lifter form the vessel and place aside
  5. Mark the water line with a small piece of tape
  6. Empty the water from vessel and dry the inside completely
  7. Dry inside and outside of turkey using paper towels
  8. Use syringe to begin injecting marinade into turkey. Inject full bottle into the thicker areas of breast and thighs
  9. Gently season and rub the seasoning into turkey skin
  10. Pour frying oil into vessel up to the tape line and remove the tape marker from the vessel
  11. Carefully transfer vessel onto burner
  12. Open the propane valves, set time control to max, and start your burner
  13. Place thermometer into vessel and raise temperature to 325°F
  14. Wearing flame-retardant gloves, use lift handle to slowly lower the turkey into the oil
  15. Monitor the temperature to maintain 325°F temperature cook until golden brown, typical cooking time is 3-1/2 minutes per pound
  16. Carefully remove turkey from fryer using lift handle
  17. Serve and enjoy!
