Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World radio will feature four outstanding guests: John Paul Morris, founder of the Bass Pro Shops U.S. Open Bowfishing Tournament, Bob Ziehmer, director of the Missouri Department of Conservation, Mark Morgan, Ph.D. and Associate Professor of Parks, Recreation & Tourism from the University of Missouri and Brian “Pigman” Quaca host of the hit TV shows “Boss Hog”, “Pigman the Series” and “Aporkalypse”.The hour-long radio show airs Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern time on RURAL SiriusXM Channel 80.

Morris, who is also the general manager of Bass Pro Shops online store, will let listeners know about Bass Pro Shops’ exciting U.S. Open Bowfishing Championship, which will be held at five different lakes in Missouri and Arkansas on June 13, 2015. Morris will also talk about the first Bass Pro Shops World Bowfishing Fair event held at Bass Pro Shops flagship superstore in Springfield, Missouri June 12 – 14, 2015.
Ziehmer, who serves as the eighth director of the Missouri Department of Conservation since its formation in 1937, will talk about what is happening in Missouri with the Bass Pro World Fishing Fair and U.S. Open Bowfishing Championship. Ziehmer will also discuss why citizen input and involvement are critical to conservation.
Morgan, an associate professor in the School of Natural Resources at the University of Missouri, has an idea to slow the spread of Asian carp in the Midwest and fight back: If you can’t beat ‘em, eat ‘em. Morgan will discuss his plan to get people to overcome their reluctance to eat carp as well as the health benefits of the meat. In addition to Morgan’s efforts to commercialize carp as a viable food source, he will explain how Schafer Fisheries in Illinois has developed a process to mostly debone the fish.

Quaca, host of Pig Man: The Series on the Sportsman Channel will talk about his recent auto accident and road to recovery. He’ll also discuss the importance of hog hunting and its impact on conservation.
