Fishing Tips: Trolling Cranks for Crappie

Pros4- 1Source's Keith Worrall with some helpful tips on trolling for crappie in shallow bays as well as targeting crappie that are suspended just a few feet below the surface. Keith is trolling Berkley Flicker Shad Shallow Running Crankbaits at speeds from .9 to 1.5 miles per hour. Marking big fish spots with the Humminbird GPS and holding a track log while you fish will keep you on the big fish spots longer. Keith is using the Minn Kota Ultrex trolling motor with the Cruise Control and auto pilot options set at the same time to hold the preferred speeds and to stay on the right track. This is a great year round crappie catching technique.
