Cabela's Ambassador David Walker talks to us about different jig styles. David points out that there are different jigs needed for different fishing environments. A jig is a weighted hook with a skirt on it, but the head and hook styles and the weight guards are what you need to pay attention to when looking for the right jig. A flipping jig has a bigger and heavier hook and is meant to be flipped into heavy cover and used with heavier fishing line. A light wire jig has a thinner hook and is intended to work as a swimming jig or a casting jig. David likes attaching a trailer to his light wire jigs to create irresistible action. David also points out that you can fish any depth on any lake.
