Rio Indio Lodge in Nicaragua is delighted to announce the affiliation of a partnership with Harry Robertson, owner of Hanover Fly Fishers Ltd in Ashland, Virginia. Harry operates a fly casting school and showroom of necessary gear to join him on hosted worldwide destinations. He will be hosting trips several times each year to the lodge and will gladly demonstrate the casts and suggest flies for success during your visit. Hey Bass Pro Team - I was on the VIP list of PRO Staff to attended a ceremony at the Richmond Bass Pro Shop for the unveiling of the 2013-2014 Federal Conservation Duck Stamp. This ceremony was for the First Day of Sale of the Federal Duck Stamp and Junior Duck Stamp held June 28, 2013. What a marvelous experience attended by political and business notables, waterfowl hunters,conservationists and outdoor recreationists were present plus some very serious stamp collectors. Earlier this year I spent a week in the Amazon rainforest arranging a trip through Sweetwater Travel, longtime friends in the trade, to secure eight spaces in a fly-fishing-only lodge located 300 miles north of Manaus, Brazil, deep in the jungle. My biggest shock came when I found we would be landing our included charter from Manaus on a paved, 3000-foot runway just 200 meters from the lodge!The owner has completed quite a feat, using barges when the river levels allowed to bring in materials and building six air-conditioned guest houses, complete with private baths. Hey Bass Pro Team! Please pardon the redundant report. Hampden-Sydney College, where I perform two seminars yearly, asked for an after-graduation trip to Central America. This trip would be open to family members as well as the students -- a good opportunity for the father-son type trip and a great graduation present for seniors.
