Tips for Tough Turkey Hunting

Turkey hunting is for the patient and stout of heart.

If you've ever spent much time in the turkey woods, you know that the only thing you can expect is the unexpected. Turkeys like nasty weather, vertical topography, and gobbling just long enough to lure a hunter miles away from where he parked. Turkey hunting is for the patient and stout of heart. It's a sport for those who thrive on disappointment, who can bounce back from adversity and who can endure discomfort. More often than not, a turkey hunter will trudge several miles in the dark, sit out in the rain for hours yelping and clucking and not see a thing. He will then walk back to his truck and unload his shotgun just in time to see a big old gobbler step out of the woods. I just love turkey hunting.
