1  Katy, TX

The Fishing Lures: Bass Pro Shops XPS Lazer Eye Deep Diver Crankbaits and Zoom Super Fluke.

The Target Fish: Largemouth bass, redfish.

The Reason: The Bass Pro Deep Diving cranks are deadly on big east Texas bass, and the Super Fluke will catch anything that swims - freshwater or saltwater.

The Tip: Rig the Super Fluke weightless on a 4/0 wide-gap hook and fish it over weedbeds, twitching it as it falls. Keep three or more colors on hand for finicky fish.

The Fishing Lures: Savage Gear TPE 3D Manic Shrimp and Berkley Gulp Saltwater Shrimp.

The Target Fish: Redfish, speckled trout, snook.

The Reason: The Manic shrimp looks more like a shrimp than a shrimp does! The Gulp Shrimp has been an incredible producer for years - for all fish species.

The Tip: Rig the Gulp Shrimp on a VMC Drop Shot hook 12 inches below a popping cork. Fish the edges of salt grass and shallow inshore channels.

The Fishing Lures: Got-Cha Plug and Rapala Saltwater X-Rap.

The Target Fish: Speckled trout, redfish.

The Reason: Surf-casting in Destin can produce a number of fish species, and both the Got-Cha and Rapala jerkbaits are favorites.

The Tip: Follow the birds. Where there are birds, there are baitfish. Where there are baitfish, there are gamefish. Cast far, twitch often, and get ready for a big one.

The Target Fish: Speckled trout, redfish.

The Reason: The classic MirrOlure is effective on all gamefish - the holograhic finishes are irresistible. Fishbites is a great addition to any presentation.

The Tip: Tip off a spoon with a chunk of Fishbites to improve catch rates. Or try it alone, weighted near the bottom in the surf.

The Target Fish: Largemouth bass.

The Reason: From the home-state of the world record largemouth come these two nearly infalible fishing lures. Both have been trusted producers for years.

The Tip: Dig the DD22 into the dirt in 8-12 feet of water, and you'll attract big bass from all around. Just rig the Stik-O worm any way you want. You can't fish it wrong.

The Target Fish: Largemouth bass

The Reason: The fertile lakes of Louisiana and east Texas are chock full of bass, and these tow superstar fishing lures are some of the best ways of catching them.

The Tip: Carolina-rig the Baby Brush Hog and hop it over points or down submerged roadways. Bass can't resist this weird little guy.
