News & Tips: Create a Pre-Fishing Trip Checklist: A Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Tip...

When you are getting ready for a fishing trip, establishing a routine will help you make sure that every detail is taken care of.

The next time you’re getting ready for a day on the water, make a fishing trip packing list of everything you need to do before you slide your boat in the water or put your waders on. Then organize the list in the order you need to accomplish each task.

Turn that into a checklist and follow it until you’re doing all of those things by instinct and don’t have to make a list. When it becomes second nature to check things like the air pressure in your boat trailer tires, your waders for leaks, your rod guides for nicks, line for kinks, inventory your tackle box and anything else you can think of, you’ll be well on your way to having the most fun and the least worries every time you go out.
